Advanced but can be nailed down

Solving equations with variables

Solving variables like x is pretty much
simple algebra but we can start with the
basics. Let's say we have this equation
below:

2x + 56 = 100

Whatever we do to the left side must be done
to the right side, keeping the equation even
with x still equaling the same thing:

2x + 56 = 100
-56 -56
2x = 44

Now we need to leave x on the left hand
side and your answer on the right so to
get there you need to divide 2x by 2 to
leave x:

\( \frac{2x}{2}= \frac{44}{2} \)
x = 22

And that would be your answer.
