Electronic School provides educational tools for teachers and students. This policy explains what information the site receives when you use those tools.
Information we receive
- When you use Google sign-in, we request only the
openidandemailscopes. This means we receive your email address and organization domain — we do not request your name, profile photo, or other profile information. This information is used only to determine whether you belong to a school district authorized to use that district's Gemini API key. - When you use an AI feature, we receive the questions, prompts, images, or PDF files that you submit.
- The site may receive basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as request details and error information.
How AI features use your information
AI Class and Image to Text send submitted content to Google Gemini to generate a response or extract text. District-authorized accounts use the Gemini key configured for their district. Other accounts use the site's public Gemini key. Do not submit student information unless your district has authorized the account and you have the required permission to do so.
Storage and retention
The site does not intentionally save uploaded images or PDFs as application files after processing. Submitted content is transmitted to Google Gemini for processing and may be handled according to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices. Browser sessions may retain sign-in information while you are using the site.
Children and student data
Teachers and schools are responsible for obtaining required permissions and following applicable student-privacy laws, including COPPA and any district policies. This site is not a substitute for a school's privacy review or data-processing agreement.
Third-party services
The site uses Google OAuth (requesting only the openid and email scopes), Google Gemini, Firebase Analytics, and Ko-fi widgets. These services may process information under their own policies. Review their privacy terms before using features that depend on them.
